Me again.jpg

Currently studying a Master of Architecture, this degree builds on a passion and knowledge I found in the completion of a Diploma of Building Design and Bachelor of Architectural Design.

Presently employed as a Junior Draftsman at OJ Pippin Homes, working on projects from small scale residential, to large townhouse developments. This position has allowed me to further my skills, and gain real world experience in residential documentation, 3D modelling, detailing, and working drawings.

Presently working at ThomsonAdsett as an Architectural Student I have been exposed to a large variety of projects from large government, health, and commercial buildings, all the way down to small retail tenancies. In this position I originally started working within interiors team, then moved to the aged care team, however currently I have had to opportunity to work within the retail and commercial department of the company. Working in these positions through the various teams and sectors, has greatly increased my design awareness and architectural skills. This industry experience has considerably improved my architectural skills and increased my abilities through working on projects from conceptual design presentations all the way to final construction documentation.

Previously I had worked for three years at Flannerys (Organic Health Food Store & Wholefood Market). In this position I gained experience and a practical understanding of customer service, retail characteristics, problem solving, ordering, invoicing, and stock management.

Throughout my studies at TAFE I found a love for medium to multi residential projects. During these studies I took various projects from conceptual drawings through to working and developmental drawings. Completing these subjects has giving me a proficiency in Revit and documentation, by taking various projects including new designs, as well as demolition and renovations, to the various stages of completion. Some other aspects of study covered in the later stages of the Diploma were working in collaboration using BIM, rendering, and marketing. Furthermore, sustainable design and numerous construction methods were covered giving myself and other students a high competence in these areas.

In the completion of a Bachelor of Architectural Design (Honours) at QUT, my skills and knowledge have grown through model making and various design techniques. Additionally, through my minors of Residential Construction and Urban Planning, I have garnished an appreciation and understanding for design that has expanded from small details through to large town planning visions. Furthermore, my experience at university have enhanced my skills in presenting, design documents, report writing, communication, and professionalism.
